Vanadium(III) oxide react with chlorine

2V2O3 + 6Cl2 → 4VOCl3 + O2


Vanadium(III) oxide react with chlorine to produce vanadium trichloride oxide and oxygen. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 500-600°C. Impurities: vanadium(IV) chloride VCl4.
