CoCl2 + 4NH4SCN → (NH4)2[Co(SCN)4] + 2NH4Cl


Cobalt(II) chloride react with thiocyanate ammonium to produce ammonium tetratiocyanocobaltate(II) and ammonium chloride. This reaction takes place in the acetone.
