Cu2S + 8HNO3 → 2Cu(NO3)2 + S + 4NO2 + 4H2O




Copper(I) sulfide react with nitric acid to produce copper nitrate, sulfur, nitrogen dioxide and water. Nitric acid - concentrated cold solution. This reaction takes place slowly.
