Bi2O3 + 6NaOH + 2Cl2 → 2NaBiO3 + 4NaCl + 3H2O




Bismuth oxide react with sodium hydroxide and chlorine to produce sodium metabismuthate, sodium chloride and water. The reaction takes place in a boiling solution.
