4Bi2S3 + 12Na2CO3 → 8Bi + 9Na2S + 3Na2SO4 + 12CO2




Bismuth(III) sulfide react with sodium carbonate to produce bismuth, sodium sulfide, sodium sulfate and carbon dioxide. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 700-800°C.
