Calcium carbide react with oxygen

2CaC2 + 5O2 → 2CaO + 4CO2




Calcium carbide react with oxygen to produce calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 700-900°C. Impurities: - carbonate calcium.
