CaCl2 + 2H2 → CaH2 + 2HCl

Calcium chloride react with hydrogen to produce calcium hydride and hydrogen chloride. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 600-700°C. In this reaction, the catalyst is can be platinum, iron or nickel.
