2CoCO3 + 2H2 + 8CO → [Co2(CO)8] + 2H2O + 2CO2




Cobalt(II) carbonate react with hydrogen and carbon monoxide to produce oktacarbonyldicobalt, water and carbon dioxide. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 120°C and an overpressure.
