2CrF2 + 6HCl + 8H2O → 2[Cr(H2O)4Cl2]Cl + 4HF + H2




Chromium(II), fluoride react with hydrogen chloride and water to produce dichloridotetraaquachromium(III) chloride, hydrogen fluoride and hydrogen. Hydrogen chloride - concentrated solution. The reaction takes place in a boiling solution.
