Cr(NO3)3 + 6H2O + 3HCl → [Cr(H2O)4Cl2]Cl•2H2O + 3HNO3


Chromium(III) nitrate react with water and hydrogen chloride to produce dihydrate dichloridotetraaquachromium(III) chloride and nitric acid. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 80°C.
