Copper react with sulfuric acid

2Cu + 2H2SO4 → Cu2SO4 + SO2 + 2H2O




Copper react with sulfuric acid to produce copper(I) sulfate, sulfur dioxide and water. Sulfuric acid anhydrous. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 200°C.
