Iron(III) chloride react with ethanol

2FeCl3 + C2H5OH → 2FeCl2 + CH3CHO + 2HCl




Iron(III) chloride react with ethanol to produce iron(II) chloride acetaldehyde and hydrogen chloride. This reaction takes place slowly.
