GeS2 + H3PO2 + H2O → GeS + H3PO3 + H2S




Germanium(IV) sulfide react with hypophosphorous acid and water to produce germanium(II) sulfide, phosphorous acid and hydrogen sulfide. The reaction takes place in a concentrated solution hydrogen chloride.
