3Hg + 2HNO3 + 6HCl → 3HgCl2 + 2NO + 4H2O




Mercury react with nitric acid and hydrogen chloride to produce mercury(II) chloride, nitric oxide and water. Hydrogen chloride and nitric acid - concentrated solutions. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 50-70°C.
