2HgCl2 + 4NH3 + H2O → Hg2NCl•H2O + 3NH4Cl




Mercury(II) chloride react with ammonia and water to produce hydrate mercury(II) chloride-dinitride and ammonium chloride. The reaction takes place in a boiling solution in the concentrated solution sodium hydroxide.
