Mercury(II) iodide react with potassium iodide and water

HgI2 + KI + H2O → K[HgI3]•H2O




Mercury(II) iodide react with potassium iodide and water to produce hydrate potassium triiodomercurate(II). Potassium iodide is wet. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 34-56°C.
