Hg2I2 + 4H2SO4 → 2HgSO4 + I2 + 2SO2 + 4H2O




Mercury(I) iodide react with sulfuric acid to produce mercury(II) sulfate, iodine, sulfur dioxide and water. Sulfuric acid - concentrated heated solution.
