Mercury(I) nitrate react with ammonium hydroxide

2Hg2(NO3)2 + 4(NH3•H2O) → Hg2NNO3•H2O + 2Hg + 3NH4NO3 + 3H2O




Mercury(I) nitrate react with ammonium hydroxide to produce hydrate mercury(II) nitrate-dinitride, mercury, ammonium nitrate and water. The reaction takes place in a boiling solution.
