I2O5 + 10HCl + 2KCl → 2K[ICl4] + 2Cl2 + 5H2O




Iodine(V) oxide react with hydrogen chloride and potassium chloride to produce potassium tetrachloridoiodate(III), chlorine and water. Hydrogen chloride - concentrated solution.
