Iridium react with hydrogen chloride and oxygen

Ir + 6HCl + O2 → H2[IrCl6] + 2H2O




Iridium react with hydrogen chloride and oxygen to produce hexachloridoiridate(IV) hydrogen and water. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 125°C and an overpressure.
