Sodium react with aluminum and hydrogen

Na + Al + 2H2 → Na[AlH4]


Sodium react with aluminum and hydrogen to produce sodium tetrahydroxoaluminate(III). The reaction proceeds in the tetrahydrofuran, at a temperature of 140°C and at 350 atm it is over 3 hours. The yield was 99%.[16]

The technical method production sodium tetrahydroxoaluminate(III).[16]
