Platinum react with sodium peroxide

Pt + Na2O2 → Na2PtO2


Platinum react with sodium peroxide to produce dioxoplatinate(II) sodium. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 450°C. Impurities: platinum(IV)-diplatinum(II) oxide Pt2PtO4.
