[Pt(CO)2Cl2] + 2O2 → PtO2 + 2CO2 + Cl2


Dichloridodicarbonylplatinum react with oxygen to produce platinum(IV) oxide, carbon dioxide and chlorine. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 250°C and an overpressure.
