K2[PtCl4] + C2H4 → K[Pt(C2H4)Cl3] + KCl


Potassium tetrachloridoplatinate(II) react with ethylene to produce trichlorido(ethylene)platinate(II) potassium and potassium chloride. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 0°C in the concentrated solution hydrogen chloride.
