ZrCl4 + 4N2O5 → Zr(NO3)4 + 4NO2Cl


Zirconium(IV) chloride react with dinitrogen pentoxide to produce nitrate zirconium(IV) and nitryl chloride. The reaction proceeds at room temperature in the liquid tetrachloromethane.
