Zirconium react with water

Zr + 2H2O → ZrO2 + 2H2




Zirconium react with water to produce zirconium(IV) oxide and hydrogen. This reaction takes place at a temperature of over 300°C. Impurities: hydride zirconium(II) ZrH2.
