Rhenium(V) chloride react with water

3ReCl5 + 4H2O → HReO4 + 2H2[ReCl6] + 3HCl


Rhenium(V) chloride react with water to produce perrhenic acid, hydrogen hexachloridorhenate(IV) and hydrogen chloride. This reaction takes place in a 10% solution hydrogen chloride.
