Rhenium(IV) sulfide react with oxygen and chlorine

2ReS2 + 3O2 + 3Cl2 → 2 ReO3Cl + 2S2Cl2


Rhenium(IV) sulfide react with oxygen and chlorine to produce rhenium(VII) chloride-trioxide and disulfur dichloride. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 450°C.
