Ru + O2 + 6HCl → H2[RuCl6] + 2H2O


Ruthenium react with oxygen and hydrogen chloride to produce hydrogen hexachloridoruthenate(IV) and water. Hydrogen chloride - concentrated solution. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 125°C and an overpressure.
