Sulfur dichloride react with water

2SCl2 + 2H2O → 4HCl + S + SO2


Sulfur dichloride react with water to produce hydrogen chloride, sulfur and sulfur dioxide. The reaction proceeds at room temperature. Impurities: H2S2O3, H2SnO6, H2SO4.
