2SO2 + Na2CO3 → Na2S2O5 + CO2


Sulfur oxide react with sodium carbonate to produce sodium disulfite and carbon dioxide. Sodium carbonate - concentrated solution. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 40-60°C.
