SeO2 + 2SOCl2 → SeCl4 + 2SO2


Selenium(IV) oxide react with sulfur(IV) oxide-dichloride to produce selenium tetrachloride and sulfur dioxide. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 75-90°C.
