SiC + 4Na2O2 → Na2SiO3 + Na2CO3 + 2Na2O


Silicon carbide react with sodium peroxide to produce sodium metasilicate, sodium carbonate and sodium oxide. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 700-800°C.
