SiCl4 + 4H2 → SiH4 + 4HCl


Silicon(IV) chloride react with hydrogen to produce silane and hydrogen chloride. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 1200-1300°C. In this reaction, the catalyst is can be chloride aluminum.
