Si3Cl8 + 2Li[AlH4] → Si3H8 + 2LiCl + 2AlCl3


Octachlorotrisilane react with lithium tetrahydroxoaluminate(III) to produce trisilane, lithium chloride and aluminum chloride. This reaction takes place in the medium of ester, at a temperature near -60°C.
