SiO2 + 6NH4F + 2H2O → (NH4)2[SiF6] + 4(NH3•H2O)


Silicon dioxide react with ammonium fluoride and water to produce hexafluorosilicate(IV) ammonium and ammonium hydroxide. Silicon dioxide is amorphous. Ammonium fluoride - saturated solution.
