Silicon dioxide react with ammonium hydrofluoride

SiO2 + 4NH4HF2 → SiF4 + 4NH4F + 2H2O


Silicon dioxide react with ammonium hydrofluoride to produce silicon tetrafluoride, ammonium fluoride and water. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 200-250°C.
