Tellurium react with thionyl chloride

Te + 2SOCl2 → TeCl4 + SO2 + S


Tellurium react with thionyl chloride to produce tellurium(IV) chloride, sulfur dioxide and sulfur. This reaction takes place at a temperature of over 600°C, in the atmosphere carbon dioxide.
