Uranium react with water

U + 2H2O → UO2 + 2H2


Uranium react with water to produce oxide uranium(IV) and hydrogen. This reaction slowly takes place at a temperature of 150-200°C and an overpressure. Impurities: hydride uranium(III) UH3.
