[Fe(CO)5] + Ba(OH)2 → BaCO3 + [Fe(CO)4H2]


Pentacarbonyliron react with barium hydroxide to produce barium carbonate and dihydroxotetracarbonyliron(II). Pentacarbonyliron - liquid. This reaction takes place at a temperature near -15°C.
