TiCl4 + 2Mg → Ti + 2MgCl2


Titanium(IV) chloride react with magnesium to produce titanium and magnesium chloride. Magnesium in the form of melt.[17] This reaction takes place at a temperature of 800-850°C, in a argon atmosphere.[8]
