SiCl4 + 6NH3 → Si(NH)2 + 4NH4Cl [8]


Silicon tetrachloride react with and ammonia to produce dinitridohydrogen silicate and ammonium chloride. This reaction takes place in a hexane, at a temperature of no more than 40°C.
