CCl4 + AgClO4 → CCl3ClO4 + AgCl


Carbon tetrachloride react with silver(I) perchlorate to produce carbon(IV) trichloride-perchlorate and silver(I) chloride. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 50°C, in vacuo.
