2ClO2F + 2PtF6 → ClO2F2[PtF6] + ClO2[PtF6]

Chlorine(V) fluoride-dioxide react with platinum hexafluoride to produce dioxide-difluoride-hexafluoroplatinate(V) chlorine(VII) and dioxide-hexafluoroplatinate(V) chlorine(V). This reaction takes place at a temperature near -78°C, initiated by the absorption of energy in the form of light.
