Oktacarbonyldicobalt react with sodium hydroxide to produce hydroxotetracarbonylcobalt, dodekacarbonyltetracobalt and sodium carbonate. Sodium hydroxide - diluted solution. This reaction slowly takes place at a temperature near 0°C.
