4CoO(OH) + 8HNO3 → 4Co(NO3)2 + O2 + 6H2O


Cobalt metahydroxide react with nitric acid to produce nitrate cobalt(II), oxygen and water. Nitric acid - concentrated solution. This reaction takes place at a temperature of 75-85°C.
