CoS2 + 14HNO3 → CoSO4 + 14NO2 + 6H2O + H2SO4


Cobalt(II) persulfide react with nitric acid to produce cobalt(II) sulfate, nitrogen dioxide, water and sulfuric acid. Nitric acid - concentrated solution. The reaction takes place in a boiling solution.
