Iron(II) hydroxide react with sodium nitrite

Fe(OH)2 + NaNO2 → FeO(OH) + NO + NaOH


Iron(II) hydroxide react with sodium nitrite to produce iron(III) oxide-hydroxide, nitric oxide and sodium hydroxide. Sodium nitrite - concentrated solution. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 60°C.
