GeCl2 + 2HNO3 → GeO2 + 2NO2 + 2HCl


Germanium(II) chloride react with nitric acid to produce germanium(IV) oxide, nitrogen dioxide and hydrogen chloride. Nitric acid - concentrated heated solution.
