Europium(III) chloride react with hydrogen

2EuCl3 + H2 → 2EuCl2 + 2HCl

Europium(III) chloride react with hydrogen to produce europium(II) chloride and hydrogen chloride. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 270°C.[8]
